The anticipated Celldweller full-length album, Wish Upon A Blackstar will be officially released on June 12, 2012. The expansive 16 track album has been years in the making and I actually started working on the artwork for this album almost 3 years ago. When I came up with the concept for Celldweller of creating one large image and splitting them up into chapters and revealing at each release a new part of the artwork, I thought of how to to do this and I had to start with creating the central and final piece which was going to be the blackstar and then work backwards and create the full artwork. I went through many versions and experimented a lot before getting to this final cover which has many details. The Deluxe Edition of the album features the long-awaited final scene from my series of images from the original digital album chapters. Shellshock: the four-piece band from Watford, UK who fuse metal with drum and bass blastbeats into their own unique, raucous ‘E Metal’ sound. Formed in 2000 by four driven individuals who wanted to strive to create a unique, flawless sound in music by fusing the styles of dark DnB and aggressive, in your face Metal. Their pulsating, energy driven live shows soon saw them ramming local venues to the rafters. More highly successful UK shows followed with the band being offered to support Skindred on a 26 date tour. The fiery live show attracted the attention of the rock press.

The design of the album (10 page booklet) – first shows a city landscape of destruction from a far distance and then each double page of the booklet shows a closer part of the city till we end up inside a building with the actual band. I had a lot of fun designing the artwork – It was a long process and it was great to work closely with the band – discussing ideas etc.

I have just added a new digipak to the portfolio. Static Plan is an Alternative Rock/Electronic band based in Guildford, England. I designed the logo and artwork for their debut EP. ETERNAL QUARTER are a Hard/Classic Rock band hailing from Manchester. MENACE are a hard rock band from Norway founded in 2009. Their music lays between 80′s heavy/hard rock and alternative metal. They contacted me after seeing my work in my portfolio and asked me to design the EP sleeve artwork for their upcoming CD called “Rock’n'Roll Rebels” which is due out in july 2012. Gas mask, mutants, destruction, apocalypse, war, bombs, apocalypse, skulls … the keywords which lead me to this design. ROOOCK’NNN’ROOOOOLL !
